Story behind the game:
Ladies and Gentlemen you can finally breathe a sigh of relief. On March 11th of 2008 the CBHS vs. Houston rivalry will be renewed and there isn’t a better time for it. These two storied programs have been unable to cross paths for about 10 years now, leaving a large void in the level of excitement that circulates around Tennessee High School Soccer.
CBHS has had enormous success throughout the years, competing and winning numerous State Championships. CBHS is coached by Rogerio Lima who continues to instill the pride, dedication and passion for the game necessary to be successful in CBHS’ storied history.
CBHS and Houston have battled over Memphis supremacy since 1992. Houston coached by David Wolff has also been a continually successful program with numerous State Championships. Since their emergence into the upper echelon of soccer programs in the state, Houston has intimidated and dominated many of its large school rivals from middle and east Tennessee.
Both of these programs have produced college athletes with several moving on to the pro level. There are no two programs as rich in championship tradition than CBHS and Houston. The Memphis community has waited long enough to see these schools battle it out for the Memphis title. Finally that wish will be granted as we begin what will hopefully be an extraordinary season for both teams.

Collierville v White Station
As a precursor to the big event you will get to see another two great high school soccer teams in Collierville and White Station. These schools represent two of the best high school programs in the area and will also be battling it out to help LeBonheur.
The John Talley Pediatric Neurological Research Fund
It all began on March 11, 2002, when the Memphis community lost a very valued member when cancer claimed the life of John Talley. Up until his death, John not only served as the General Manager of the Mike Rose Soccer Complex (MRSC), but was also the brainchild that conceived both the idea and the business plan for MRSC. The Complex has had a major economic impact on Memphis and its surrounding areas, as well as provided many Memphis families and underprivileged children the opportunity to play and learn soccer at a worldclass facility.
John’s son, Carey Talley, who currently plays professional soccer with Real Salt Lake started the John Talley Pediatric Neurological Research Foundation. Inspired by his fathers contribution to the Memphis community Carey with the help of the
MRSC staff have organized for the past several years the LeBonheur All-Star Soccer Game involving top professional players from around the country. “My father has given every player in Memphis a high quality facility to play at," Carey
said. "I want to give back to him what he has helped me achieve with soccer. “
With this dedication in mind and with the help of LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, Carey and the MRSC staff have currently raised over $100,000 for LeBonheur Children’s
Medical Center.
